An original article by Dr Yuta Otsuka, who graduated from the lab this spring, has been selected to receive this year’s JPR Best Paper Award from the Botanical Society of Japan. This was a part of his doctoral thesis, which described a method for quantitative measurement and evaluation of plant organ twisting. By using this method, he succeeded in describing the twisting of Arabidopsis thaliana leaf petioles in response to blue light irradiation. The award ceremony will be held at the annual meeting of the Botanical Society of Japan in September this year.
