New paper on 3D quantification of twisting

Plants deform organs in various situations. For example, when leaves are irradiated from the side, petioles twist to adjust the orientation of blades and enhance photosynthesis. Toward a quantitative understanding of such deformation, we implemented 3D quantification of twisting with geometric separation from bending. With this method, Arabidopsis petioles are shown to have a different spatial distribution of bending and twisting in response to lateral blue light irradiation.
