The physics of living matter

We investigate the physical principles governing biological order, dynamics, and fluctuations. Combining experiments, theory, and data analysis, our research covers questions ranging from single-molecule behavior to animal morphology. Current projects focus on describing emergent properties in living systems using many-body physics, uncovering date-driven rules behind the diverse forms produced by evolution, and exploring how intelligence evolved in living organisms.
  • Studying animal skeletons to microscopic cell dynamics and many-body simulations, integrating experiments, theory, and data analysis.
