要旨
How does the brain transform experience into knowledge? In this talk, I will discuss recent advances in understanding grid-cell modules in the medial entorhinal cortex and their roles in spatial memory. I will then examine systems consolidation, through which episodic memories are reorganized into distributed cortical representations. Finally, I will present ongoing work exploring the neural mechanisms underlying conceptual memory in the neocortex. Together, these studies illuminate how memories evolve from spatial and episodic representations to structured knowledge.
