Laboratory of Evolutionary zoology / Ecological Developmental Biology / Sociobiology

In our laboratory, we are exploring the patterns of animal evolution, focusing on developmental alterations and their evolutionary significances in relation to major transitions, in various lineages across the animal kingdom.

Together with graduate/undergraduate students, we are working on the evolution of sociality, coloniality, terrestrialization, novelties, reproductive and developmental patterns, in various animals like termites, bryozoans, syllids, cephalopods, isopods, caprellids, millipedes, acoels, sea slugs, brittle stars and etc.
