The "Laboratory of Biological Signaling" (formerly called, the "Laboratory of Endocrinology") started in April, 2003. This laboratory has a long history that dates back to the era of establishment of the Department of Zoology and has been mainly focusing on the biological studies of the endocrine and nervous systems. We wish to establish a new pioneering field of zoological science that aims at clarifying mechanisms of biological signaling in the central nervous as well as the endocrine systems by incorporating multidisciplinary techniques and diversity of animal preparations.
