概要：Sexual conflicts of interest occur when a trait spreads because it increases males' ability to compete for access to matings, in spite of it having a negative influence on females. Then female counteradaptations to the male conflict adaptations may also invade the population. This may be a strong source of selection causing population divergence. I will present theoretical conditions for the evolutionary invasion of sexual conflict adaptations, and show some examples of what theory predicts about the sexual coevolutionary dynamics. Antagonistic coevolution of the sexes may lead to evolutionary arms races or to compromises, dependent on e.g. trait costs. Sexual conflict will also influence the evolution of important mating system characteristics such as remating rate and partner choice.
